Playing Experience
Leandro Amaral started his career as a soccer player at a Associacao Portuguesa de Desportos in Brazil.
At 16 years old he already was playing as a professional.
At 19 years old he played in the Under-20 Brazilian National Team, in Toulon, France. During this time Leandro also played the Brazilian Championship and was the best striker of the year in attracting the interest of European clubs.
At 21 years old he signed a contract for 5 years at ACF Fiorentina, Italy. He played under coaches Fatih Terim, Roberto Mancini, Zagallo, Tite, Wanderley Luxemburgo, Renato Gaucho, Antonio Lopes, Valdir Espinosa, Celso Roth and with many legends players as Rui Costa, Nuno Gomes, Romario, Roberto Carlos, Kaka among others.
In Europe he played the UEFA Cup in 2001 and won the Italia Cup.
In Brazil, he played in important clubs in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro like Clube de Regatas Vasco da Gama, Fluminense, Flamengo, Sao Paulo, Corinthians, Palmeiras, Gremio and Portuguesa where he scored over a 100 goals becoming a member of the honor hall.
At Clube de Regatas Vasco da Gama, Leandro won awards for best striker of the Carioca Championship and the player of the year, Bola de Prata award.
At Brazilian National team, he represented his country at the Confederations Cup in Japan/Korea – 2001 and played some eliminatory games for the World Cup.
