ECNL-RL Krush Success Stories

At FKK, we believe excellence isn’t measured by the success of a single top team — it’s reflected in the strength of the entire club. A second team program is not a backup plan; it is a vital part of player development, culture, and long-term success.

Read about why the program works, the success over the years and some personal success stories from some recent Krush Regional League (RL) alumni.

Bright Now! Dental & Orthodontics is proud to partner with the Florida Kraze Krush to support young athletes both on and off the field. Just like speed, strength, and endurance, a healthy smile plays an important role in overall health and peak athletic performance.

  • Oral health is directly connected to total body wellness. Gum inflammation and untreated dental issues can contribute to systemic inflammation, which may affect energy levels, recovery time, and even focus during competition. For soccer players competing at a high level, small advantages matter. Maintaining healthy teeth and gums helps reduce the risk of infection, supports proper nutrition, and promotes better breathing - all key factors for stamina and performance.
  • Strong oral hygiene habits also build discipline, an essential trait for athletes. Brushing twice a day, flossing daily, and attending regular dental checkups reinforce consistency and commitment. These are some of the same qualities that drive success on the field.
  • Hydration is another critical factor. Many sports drinks contain sugars and acids that can weaken enamel over time. Choosing water when possible and scheduling routine cleanings helps protect growing smiles throughout the season.
  • Protection during play is just as important as performance. Custom-fitted mouthguards are a game-changer for athletes, helping prevent chipped or broken teeth, jaw injuries, and soft tissue damage. Unlike over-the-counter options, professionally made mouthguards provide a secure, comfortable fit that allows players to breathe and communicate clearly while staying protected.

At Bright Now! Dental & Orthodontics, we believe confident smiles fuel confident athletes. Whether it’s preventive care, emergency care, orthodontic treatment, or custom mouthguards for protection during play, we are committed to helping Florida Kraze Krush players stay healthy, focused, and game-ready.

How long have you been coaching soccer?
I have been coaching for 42 years in youth soccer including but not limited to Texas Image, Legend Soccer Club, North Texas ODP (Olympic Development Program), Sting Soccer Club, Warrior Soccer Association, South Texas ODP, Lonestar SC, Region III ODP and Central Florida Kraze Krush Soccer Club. I also served as an instructor for the Coaching Courses offered through North Texas.

Coaching philosophy:
My coaching style is to provide players with a firm foundation at training, so that they can enter games with the confidence that is needed to be creative, have a high work ethic, play as a team, and have the critical thinking skills that are needed in order to solve situations put before them.

Most memorable soccer moment:
A moment in my coaching career that stands out to me is when I had 18 out of 18 of my players commit to Division-1 soccer programs. This was rewarding to me as a coach because I enjoyed coaching my players both on and off the field, as well as working with their parents, on what might be the best choices for them as a family.

Advice for young players:
A piece of advice that I would give to young players trying to improve their game would be to give 110% even when no one is watching. The work you do when no one is watching is what shows up on game day.

Favorite part of coaching:
The thing I enjoy most about coaching and mentoring players is helping players become the best version of themselves.

Fun facts about you:
Something you might not know about me is that I enjoy fishing.

Favorite soccer player or role model:
My wife inspires me to be the best version of myself. She always gives all that she can give to the next generation via her many gifts, and in turn, she inspires me to do the same. Together, we teach and coach kids to become good student-athletes and productive citizens of society via honesty, integrity, and great work ethic.

Why you love being part of FKK:
Coaching at FKK is special to me because of all of the great people I have met in our TOPS program, the Developmental Program, the Developmental Plus Program, our Pre-Select Program, Junior Select Program, Senior Select Program, and our Women's Program. I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with exceptional people in all of the FKK programs that I have been involved with for the past five years. Everyday is a privilege to help our players, parents, families, and staff.

One word that describes your team(s):
If I had to pick one word to capture my 2018 Kraze Black spirit, it would be resiliency. I see resiliency in these players when they have to play up against older players, and they battle through.

The one word that I would pick for my 2017 Kraze Black team is passionate. They are always willing to learn - not only from me but also from professional players that they watch on TV and other social media.

We believe excellence isn’t measured by the success of a single top team — it’s reflected in the strength of the entire club. A second team program is not a backup plan; it is a vital part of player development, culture, and long-term success. It provides meaningful opportunities for growth, competition, and leadership while building the depth that pushes every player to improve. A strong second team challenges the top team, strengthens internal competition, and ensures that talent continues to rise. Congrats to former Krush RL players, Alex Lue Pann, Peyton White & Christany Lopez, who all won national titles in the fall with their college teams. #soccer #nationalchamps #ecnlrl
