Krush Players Help U20 Jamaican Natl Team Secure a Spot on the CONCACAF Women's Championship

Krush player, Shayla Smart #20 and Krush Alum, Erin Mikalsen #12-- helped the U20 Jamaican National Team qualify for the 2018 CONCACAF U20 Women's Championship.  Jamaica earned a first-place finish in the Carribbean Football Union by beating Dominican Republic 1-0, Haiti 1-0 and St. Kitts & Nevis 9-0.  The tournament took place in St. Kitts and Nevis over Thanksgiving week.

This top finish now places them in the CONCACAF Championship that will take place in Trinidad and Tobago in January 2018.  The top three teams from this championship will earn them a spot in the 2018 World Cup Playoffs in France.

Erin and Shayla have been playing with the Jamaican team since they were on the U17 team and have continued to grow with the program.  They have learned to balance school, club/college and now a National team schedule into their daily lives.  Shayla plays for the 00/99 ECNL Composite team and attends Mount Verde Academy where she is a senior. She is committed to Wake Forest University.  Erin attends East Carolina University (ECU) as a freshman and just ended her first college soccer season.
